High School Electives
These interdisciplinary courses infuse the literary study of myths, legends, and other world stories with connections to art, music, psychology, science, history, and cultural literacy. Each course is designed to be a semester-long study and includes clear and engaging resources, including online lessons, a textbook, and a Notebook to keep students organized and inspired. A wide variety of meaningful hands-on projects and assessments also help students develop and demonstrate their understanding of the material.
A Study of Classical Mythology
This course, geared to ages 13–18, is comprised of 90 lessons. After an overview of ancient Greece and Rome, students are introduced to the fascinating classical pantheon and read more than 30 memorable myths. The course focuses on celebrating the relevance of classical stories and helps students recognize how the classics continue to influence science, art, vocabulary, and popular culture.
Stories from Around the World
This course, geared to ages 13–18, is comprised of 90 lessons. Students are guided through a study of nearly 30 fables, myths, legends, and wonder stories from every continent of the world. They also explore fields like science and communication to see how humans have always used symbols to share information, thoughts, and ideas.
